Our Services

Every program at New Horizons is offered at no cost to our clients, ensuring that financial barriers never limit access to opportunities.

  • New Horizons Academic program offers two different pathways of education. We have a GED program and the Penn Foster Online High School diploma program. To determine the appropriate program participants must complete an assessment.

  • Through programs in computer literacy, job readiness, career coaching, and vocational training, we equip our community with the tools to succeed.

  • The Dress for Success Clothes Closet offers free professional attire to our clients, ensuring they walk into interviews and new opportunities with confidence, dignity, and pride.

    New Horizons 2025 Season of Sharing

    Each year, New Horizons Career Development Center is honored to bring joy and support to local families through our Seasons of Sharing Holiday Food and Toy Giveaway. This community-driven tradition is about more than gifts and meals — it’s about neighbors uplifting neighbors and ensuring every household can celebrate the season with dignity and warmth. Registration opens September 3, 2025. To participate, please register by November 3 for Thanksgiving and November 24 for Christmas. All services are free of charge for registered clients.

  • Career In Trades Demonstration Day

    Careers In The Trades Demonstration Day is coming up in two weeks! The San Pablo EDC, Rising Sun Center for Opportunity, and the Contra Costa Building & Construction Trades Council are proud to host this terrific event in San Pablo City Hall, at 1000 Gateway Avenue in San Pablo, CA 94806, from 3-5 pm on Tuesday September 30th.

    The San Pablo EDC, Rising Sun Center for Opportunity, and the Contra Costa Building & Construction Trades Council will be hosting fifteen partners representing many of the local trades, as well as affiliated training providers and construction employers. The trades will be sharing information about their work and how to apply for trade apprenticeships – and also conducting live demonstrations of their work! This will be a great opportunity to learn about what the trades do and why their career paths are so beneficial. We encourage anyone and everyone who’s interested – especially young people exploring career goals – to attend. The trades are actively recruiting women as well, so all are welcome!
